We are now 24 hours away from seeing a historic day in the UFC’s welterweight division. With GSP out injured there will be a new champion crowned. Will it be Nick Diaz or Carlos Condit?

Nick Diaz is a bad boy plain and simple. The kid form Stockon has come along way in the last two years and has been on an incredible run.

Carlos Condit has been on his own incredible run. He has been on the rampage in the UFC’s welterweight division. Whenever Condit is presented with an opportunity to jump to the next level he usually takes it.

Both of these men are well rounded. Both of these men are highly skilled. Both of these men are killers in the cage.

Condit’s nickname is the natural born killer. However on Saturday night he is stepping into the cage with a man who is arugably a natural born killer in his own right.

Who will win? Stay tuned as we give you a rundown of the areas where this fight will be won and lost. First we look at striking.

When it comes to striking both Condit and Diaz are two of the best in their respective division. However the way that they use striking is totally different from each other.

Condit is a more well rounded striker. He uses all 8 limbs (hands,elbows,kicks and knees) to give his opponent so much to think about if the opponent is brave enough to stand with him. In his last fight against Dong Hyun Kim, Condit showed his full range of striking by knocking out the previously undefeated Kim with a flying knee.

Nick Diaz favours his hands more than kicks but what a set of hands Nick Diaz has. Diaz is a brawler. He likes to go to war and he is arguably the best boxer at 170. That is not because of his technique but because of his accuracy and the pressure he puts on opponents. Diaz has beaten some of the most accomplished strikers at welterweight from KJ Noons to Paul Daley. However it was his last performance against BJ Penn which was his most brilliant.

The striking is very close but here at We are MMA we will give Diaz the slight edge because of this accuracy and the level of competition he has out boxed.
