We are MMA asked the question a few days ago whether Phil Davis was trying to bite more than he come chew in his fight with Rashad Evans?

On Saturday the answer to that question was YES. Phil Davis will no doubt fight for a UFC title one day. He has the wrestling credentials which is very important if a fighter wants to make it as a successful fighter in the UFC. What was evident in his fight against Evans was the luck of experience of ‘fighting under the bright lights.’

Evans has fought in so many high profile matches in his career so far. He has fought hall of famers and he has fought for the title. Saturday’s fight was the first time Phil Davis has fought in a main event. This was a big factor in the fight. Another big factor in the fight is the fact that currently Davis is still pretty much a wrester. For all the fancy kicks that he threw in the fight, nothing really gave Rashad Evans cause for concern.

That is why Rashad won and will now face Jon Jones in the long awaited title fight that MMA fans have been wanting to see for sometime.
